HYDRA AU

Derek was never recruited for SHIELD but instead for HYDRA, while he doesn't believe in their ideology, he couldn't exactly say no to the paycheck they offered him. While under their umbrella, he was moved around under different projects, never really being issued for field work unless totally necessary. He was an assistant in the Winter Soldier Program before being taken off for engaging with the subject too often, thus being moved to being a double agent and sent to infiltrate SHIELD as their medic.

In certain scenarios when he's with assets as their handler, he works behind HYDRA's back to slowly give them back their humanity, trying to make them dependent on him with the basic show of human decency like he's currently holding their leash instead of HYDRA superiors.

Daemon AU

Derek's daemon is an Fossa named Aria, she's extremely protective of him and likes to perch herself on his shoulders in any way she can or up on top of the cabinets of his office. She likes to sit next to patients and their daemons and chat with them so they don't feel lonely, not at all giving a damn that that's taboo.

A/B/O AU

Derek is a born Omega from a family of Alphas, his parents put him on suppressants as soon as he was able to take them, having never experienced his first heat. The treatment continued under his adoptive mother's care up till now as he made the choice to stay with them. He tries to pass himself as a Beta as best as he can but any slip-ups on missing a dose and his secret is out.

In certain scenarios, he can be played as a Alpha. He tends to make his omegas beg for it because he loves to watch them unravel themselves in desperation. But he is for the most part a gentle and perhaps, easily jealous and overprotective alpha.

John Wick AU

Derek works as one of the Continental's in-house doctors, taking care of its residents and offering his best advice to those who look like they need it. If he's playing the part of an assassin, he likes to take of things as quietly and efficiently as possible with well-planned escape routes if the situation calls for it. He has a tendency to take joy out of killing his targets.

Vampire AU

Derek was turned by his abusive and overprotective ex-boyfriend, Nikolas. He has since gone off-grid and lives in an abandoned shell of a castle, deep in the forest, on the outskirts of a nearby city. He has since remodeled it into a modern safehouse despite its outward appearance. He doesn't follow the rules of vampiric secrecy, always interacting with humans in the nightlife of the city. Only needing to feed once a week, he has relative self-control around them and likes to have his fun with them. He only takes his meals from the elderly or those close to dying.

He has yet to turn anyone.

Mermaid AU

Derek has black iridescent scales on his tail as well as a light iridescent sheen to his skin, his canines are fang-like. He doesn't follow the rules set by his kind about no interaction with humans, he enjoys talking to children and showing off his tail to them because they make him little gifts when they visit the beach or the pier.

He has a magical silver bracelet that lets him assume human form for about five hours at a time. Prolonged time out of water makes him uncomfortable and can have life-threatening effects if he's out of water for a day or more.

Werewolf AU

Derek was turned by a strangely large dog or was it a beast whilst heading home one night. The unfortunate thing with living on the outskirts of a city center is that nobody is really around to hear you scream, his bodyguard is that one that takes him to a hospital rather than his mother's clinic out of the severity of the injury to his shoulder. When he comes to, he jokes about how bad his injury must've looked before the staff let him rest.

He turns the following night for the first time into a large, feral, bipedal black wolf with bright yellow eyes. His sense of self is lost in this form and he ends up killing a member or two of the staff.

Old Guard AU

Derek was born during the golden age of piracy. As a kid he dreamed of a life of adventure and treasure instead of following in whatever path his parents wanted him to take. It took him awhile to get used to life at sea before he began to enjoy it, still as sneaky as ever as he got into hard to reach places to eavesdrop or steal. The first time he dies, its in a sword fight on the deck of a ship in the heat of battle. The last thing he remembers before he wakes up on a plank of wood, drifting in the middle of the sea is being stabbed with a sword. Eventually, he finds land and waits until a ship passes by to be rescued.
